This Grand Canyon bike tour leaves right from our doorstep and follows the newest greenway section built in the park eastward to Yaki Point. The beautifully paved paths have been designed to let you experience the Canyon at a spectacularly close distance, while still keeping you very safe and out of harm’s way. One half mile into the tour, you will emerge into a clearing that offers your first spectacular view of the Canyon. From there, the path winds only feet from the rim almost all the way to the Yaki Point lookout. Your guide will take you through a colorful history of geology, plant life and human history along the way. They will also introduce you to some of the Canyon’s wildlife which is commonly seen in this area. This tour is great for all ages and ability levels. Kids love it but we encourage them to be old enough to have patience with 10 minute stops for interpretation.
“The Best Way to See and Learn About Grand Canyon”
My daughter Laurie arranged the tour for her fiance, her father (me), her brother and his girlfriend to take this tour. It was an AMAZING experience for the five of us! Matt T. welcomed us and with Jesse made sure we were properly outfitted and prepared for the tour. The rules for our own safety were emphasized and we were reminded as needed. We appreciated their concern and approach. Matt explained and told interesting tales of some of the events around the history, geology, stories, and legends surrounding the Grand Canyon. He left us wanting to know more. He personally was enthralled with the area and his enthusiasm was apparent and transferred to us. The bike riding was interspersed with frequent stops to view and learn. The rides were low impact and even my 67 year old body did not rebel! It was a perfect day as it was cloudy, cool, and the sun came through at various times spotlighting the many grandeurs of the canyon. Thank you Matt, Jesse, our driver and Bright Angel Bike Rentals and Tours for the experience! ~ Linkee K., Sherwood Park, Canada
