Coronavirus Grand Canyon Spring 2020
As of now the Grand Canyon National Park is open, but all facilities are closed down including most trails. Our shop remains open from 8:00 – 2:00 everyday. We will update this page if/when we close completely. Only 10 people are allowed inside and our floor is marked with tape in 6 ft increments to keep people a safe distance from one another. While we remain open, we are operating with as few staff as possible, and nobody with any symptoms is allowed into the building, including employees. We are sanitizing , for lack of a better phrase, like crazy! Bikes are still available and are being sanitized between uses. We do not encourage travel to Grand Canyon right now, especially if you or someone who you live with is exhibiting mild-severe cold or flu symptoms or has in the past 2 weeks.
If you do travel to see Grand Canyon, remember to stay inside your vehicle as much as possible, and when you’re enjoying the views don’t touch the railings, fencing, monuments etc. Wash your hands often and thoroughly. Stay as far from other people as possible in your travels, as you fill up your gas tanks, use public restrooms and pick up take-out food.
REMEMBER! Grand Canyon will still be here when this is all over and you can visit then! If we keep our friends and family healthy, we’ll afford them the opportunity to come too. We hope you’ll remember us when you make your plans at Grand Canyon in the future.
Anybody who has to cancel bike rentals or tours for reasons related to Coronovirus will be refunded fully less the 5% booking fee.
Stay safe and healthy out there, and of course if you or someone you live with is part of the “at risk” population, we strongly discourage traveling or unnecessary exposure to public areas at this time. More info here.
