How Can You Help?
Keep it Real!
Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.
With over 5 million visitors annually, the Grand Canyon faces significant waste. It’s vital to opt for reusable water bottles and minimize trash whenever feasible. Bring reusable materials and ensure proper recycling practices. When digital maps are offered, choose those over paper.
Energy & Water Conservation
Energy & Water Conservation Energy and water conservation are key. Instead of driving, utilize the NPS shuttle system or rent a bicycle to explore the park, reducing vehicle emissions. Additionally, be mindful of water usage, especially during showers, as we are in a high desert environment
Actions Speak Loud.. so Act!
If you live nearby, consider volunteering your time. Engage with park rangers to learn about various efforts on the trails and around the park aimed at beautifying and preserving the area. Our parks are a worthy cause and a great place to find purpose! Click here to read more about volunteer opportunities at Grand Canyon National Park.
Take a moment during your park visit to simply sit and listen. In a world that grows increasingly noisy, preserving the quiet is essential for others to enjoy as well. You might hear the gentle flow of rivers, the calls of ravens, or the songs of wrens. Maintain the tranquility of the wilderness by using headphones to listen to music or apps while you’re out in nature.
